Swaziland country report

There is an increasing recognition for the profession of sign language interpreters. In 2005 there were 2 interpreters. The deaf association changed everything when they became involved in training. Now there are 9 (?) interpreters.

The government has now two interpreters working full time at ministries and government offices. Other interpreters are working in education and churches.

The services we need to improve but we are working on this with the support of Deaf Action in Scotland. Soon we will set up an association of sign language interpreters.
