Italian country report

Marco Nardi presented the country report for Italy, he is a delegate of ANIOS.

ANIOS has updated their code of ethics in accordance with the spoken language interpreters. The second item is the lobbying for the official recognition of Italian Sign Language (LIS), which is on going and still not decided on. The deaf people are still fighting for LIS to be incorporated into the Italian law.

Most of the Italian Sign Language interpreters work part time, they mostly have a day job and once in a while they work as an interpreter. Those who can work full time are those who work on television or at conferences.
